A parade of finished objects....

These are in no particular order, and I don't have all the information for them right now, but at least some pictures should be nice to share. :)

"The Boy Hat"--red one for Tony (Christmas gift), green one for Dalton (just ignore the rosey cheeks--he was having an allergic reaction to something he ate):

"Chevron Hat" for Jodie (Christmas gift):

"Calorimetry"--black one for Jenny, and white one for Shelly (Christmas gifts)

"Coast Guard Dishcloth"--made it for Rick (Christmas gift), but it hasn't made it's way to him yet:

"Feather and Fan Dishcloth"--red one was made with no one particular in mind, the peachy one was given to Mom and Dad for their newly remodeled bathroom:

Kitschy Kercheif--made for me. I loved this for when I was working in the house, getting it all ready to move in. :)

I think that's all I've done while I've been away. If you would like any details on the projects, feel free to message me and I'll get the details. Currently, I'm working on a round dishcloth and the same type of triangle shawl I made for my Gamma last summer.

After a long hiatus, I'm back!!

Sorry for the long delay in posting lately. We've been pretty busy around here. We bought a new house, and were pretty busy getting it ready to move in. I also switched jobs, and David's gotten a few promotions at his work, so things have been a bit crazy. I also had trouble signing into blogger (couldn't remember my username/password, and nothing was helping), but I'm back now. Oh, we also got a puppy, so she's keeping us pretty busy. I have a lot of knitting I've done, and I'll work on getting it up shortly. Happy knitting!! :-)

Sorry for the delay

I know I haven't updated in quite a while. I haven't done much knitting. I got another Christmas gift done (will prolly get pictures of it up later on, and a scarf. I'll have to post all the information about them later on--been pretty busy with a demanding little two year old. At least here's one picture for you. :)

I'm not afraid of the DPN anymore!!!

Yup, I finally tried double-pointed needles and made my first sock. I finished it on Saturday, but have been just too busy to post about it (this week is Vacation Bible School, so I'm working that and then working my normal job too). Tammy made me cast on the second sock (big ole meany that she is....hee hee) so I wouldn't just call it quits for now. I don't blame her one bit for having me cast on. Now if only I could find time to knit and get it finished....hee hee
I'll have to look for the pattern I used--didn't save it on my computer. The yarn I used was Feza Baby. I love the feel of it, but knitting with it was a pain--majorly split. After I get the second one done, if there is any more yarn left, I'm thinking of making a headband to go with them. :-)

My first shawl is done!!!!

Yay!! My first shawl done!!! I didn't have the right sized needles, so I used one two sizes smaller, and I think it turned out alright. It's shorter than it's suppose to be, but it wraps around the shoulders and goes halfway down my back, so I say it's pretty darn good for my first one. Took a little over two weeks to get it done, but I also took a few days off from knitting in there.
I used Lion Brand Homespun Yarn in the Montana Sky colorway. I used this pattern for it, and it was pretty easy (just a lot longer than I thought). I also needed a longer cable for my needles, so I think I'll invest in a 60" cable for when I do another one of these (thanks Tammy for loaning me your 36" or whatever length it was--hee hee). I had trouble doing the crochet edging, but it's been forever since I crocheted. I know I did it too tight, but it still looks good. Gotta wash it and figure out a way to block it a bit (or at least make it look a bit nicer), then put it in my Christmas Gifts pile. :) I might take the rest of today off from knitting and start my next project tomorrow. I just need to decide--DPN or cables?? Which do I want to tackle next? :)

Just an update

Well, the Christmas gift I finished I'm not liking too much now....it's looking way too big and wide for what I want, so I'm thinking about frogging it and starting over. Once I get together with "those knitting chicks" (as my hubby sometimes refers to them) tomorrow, I'll figure out what I can do to make it better. Who knows, you might get to see a picture of it. The intended recipient will have no idea it's for them, right?? :)

In other news, I've started knitting a shawl as a gift, but I feel like I'm getting nowhere with it. It's the Easy Triangle Shaw from Lion Brand Yarns. It just seems to go on and on and on....I'm adding width, but not much length. I'll try to get some pictures later tonight if I finish the pattern again.

Other than that, not much else happening. We're babysitting my sister's cat for a month (well, he use to be my cat), so I'm enjoying having him around the house. Luckily, he doesn't seem too interested in my yarn. :)

I'll try getting pictures posted later tonight or tomorrow--gotta find the camera first. :)

First Christmas gift done!!

Ok, no pics until after Christmas, but I just had to share that I got my first Christmas gift done tonight. It only took me 3 days (yay!!!). I should have a nice long posting the day after Christmas showing off all the gifts I made/am making this year. :)

I made myself stay up and finish this gift, so now I'm heading to bed. Goodnight!! :)

Another Reverse-Bloom Flower Washcloth

Here's another flower washcloth that I got done in just a little over a day (yay, I'm getting faster!!). I used Sensations Bellezza Collection Smania yarn in the Smania Pastel Multi color (I've used it on one other project--the yarn was like $.25 on clearance...gotta love good sales). I think this one turned out much better than the yellow one--my stitches are looser, you can't tell where I switched needles, and I don't have any mistakes (that I can remember making). :) Now I have to figure out how to block these so I can get them looking all pretty.
I'm starting to think about Christmas presents (which is a major shock, considering I don't do anything Christmas-related until after my birthday (Nov. 29), but I guess if I'm making gifts this year, I need to get a head start). I have some beautiful yarns just begging to be used, but I'm so nervous to use them. I know it's silly, but that's just the way I am. I have some beautifully soft alpaca yarn (not much of it...need to actually measure it) that is just calling my name, but no ideas of what to use it for. Plus, quite a bit of wool (and more on the way).....so much yarn, so little time left to use it this year....hee hee. :)
In other news, my apologies if my blog starts looking funny for a while. I'm tired of the template I've been using, so my wonderful hubby is messing around with it to see if he can get it more to my liking. If it looks really wonky, please send me a comment letting me know. :)
